RI E-ZPass Transponders now available in all RI AAA Offices, S. Attleboro & Somerset AAA Offices
AAA announces a new pilot program with the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority. AAA branch offices in RI, and the S. Attleboro and Somerset branches sell RI E-ZPass Transponders for $20.95 plus initial load amount.*
AAA Members will receive a $2.00 credit towards their toll balance just by signing up for an E-ZPass account at one of the participating AAA Offices.
Eligible Vehicles
Two axle, 4-tire individually owned/leased vehicles, 7,000 lbs max gross weight, includes pickups and RV's with dual rear tires and motorcycles.
Certain vehicles require an exterior transponder which must be purchased at the RIBTA location. See website for vehicle restrictions: www.ezpassritba.com. These vehicles include:
- Buick Roadmaster – All
- Cadillac Catera – 99-01
- Chevrolet Lumina Van – Prior to 2002
- Chevrolet Venture – Prior to 2002
- Ford Crown Victoria* – 1987-1994
- Ford Taurus* – Prior to 1995
- Oldsmobile Silhouette – Prior to 2002
- Pontiac Trans Sport – Prior to 2002
- Pontiac Montana – Prior to 2002
- Subaru SVX – All

RI Resident Discount Plan:
RI Residents only can get a discounted rate of $0.83 cents/trip. Proof of residency required. In order to demonstrate proof of residency you must submit at least one of the applicable documents listed below:
- Utility Bill
- Tax Bill
- Copy of Rental or Lease Agreement
- RI College Student ID
- RI State Driver's License and Vehicle Registration (note: Lease vehicle registrations with out of state addresses cannot be used for proof of residency)
*Payment by Credit Card/Debit Cards only. No cash or checks. New accounts only. No refunds/exchanges on E-ZPass transponders. Interior transponder only, maximum of four transponders per account. Transponders are transferrable amongst vehicles of same type. Transponders are active 24-hours after account opening (48 hours at non-RI toll facilities). Transponders cannot be activated after 12 noon on Saturdays.
